Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has advised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deploy the front camera in the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) whenever the primary camera is not functional during the ongoing Osun State gubernatorial election.

Davido made the call on Saturday through a post on his X account as voting was underway across the state.

“If your BVAS camera doesn’t work, tell the officials to use the front camera. It’s very active and fast!” he said.

The advice followed reports from some polling units that technical issues had affected the operation of BVAS devices.

INEC uses the BVAS for the accreditation of voters through fingerprint and facial verification, in addition to other functions related to the electoral process.

The singer has been outspoken on matters relating to the Osun gubernatorial election in recent days. He had previously asked local and international observers to pay close attention to the development of the elections.
