The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State has chosen new leaders for their 16 local government areas and 2 special development areas.

These new leaders will guide the party for the next four years.

On Tuesday, the members met in different councils and picked 18 new leaders, along with one national representative from each local government area.

The meeting was calm and went well, according to DAILY POST.

Some members who spoke to DAILY POST said the goal was to pick honest and dependable leaders to run the party’s affairs at the local level.

Happy with the results, the party’s spokesperson, Andeta’rang Irammae, encouraged the new leaders to work hard and keep the party strong for future elections.

Mohammed Umar, the chairman of Sardauna, said this peaceful meeting was important for politics in their area and the state. He mentioned that the process was one of the smoothest they have had.

“This calm meeting showed that party members are serious about keeping democratic values alive,” he said.

He also told the new leaders to stay united and work together to meet the expectations of the party and the community.

He reminded them they need to serve the people, listen to them, and make sure their needs are met.

Umar further suggested that they regularly talk with other local leaders to achieve the party’s goals and attract more members to the party.
