PDP Crisis: Acting Chair Damagum Resolutely Declares, “I Won’t Be Intimidated into Resigning”

Must Read

The acting leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Damagum, said he will not be scared into quitting his job.

Damagum mentioned that people asking for him to quit are actually making him more famous.

He spoke at a meeting where they started the National Reconciliation and Disciplinary Committees. Damagum criticized people for spreading wrong information about the PDP’s leadership.

He said, “Listen to me! Anyone talking about ‘Damagum this, Damagum that’ – you cannot scare me. The more you talk about me, the more well-known I become.”

Earlier this week, there was talk that the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) might take action against Damagum and Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s National Secretary, for a letter they sent to the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt.

Some people thought the letter went against the party’s rules, and some leaders in the party wanted to punish Damagum and Anyanwu.
