The Caucus of the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) in the House of Representatives alerted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday that the Nigerians are experiencing difficulties under their administration and deserve a better treatment, emphasizing that many things have gone badly and that they must act quickly to address the situation.
Caucus made this call at a press conference after its emergency meeting in Abuja, held to support the party’s leadership decision in its previous meetings in the state of Zamfara.
According to the leader of Caucus, the Hon. Fred Agbedi:
“The Nigerians are groaning. Mr. President, be sure to pay attention to the sufferings of the Nigerians. We also urge the Nigerians to insist on good governance, to insist that in 2027 they will choose the right person and the right part to direct them. They must be determined when voting for the APC.”
PDP legislators also urged the Federal Government to pay Protestant contractors, noting that while foreign contractors were resolved, Nigerian contractors were neglected.

They promised to ensure that indigenous contractors who have provided services are paid what they are owed to feed their families, keep their businesses and support the economy.
“As Caucus, we will continue to make sure to put this government on their toes. We will make the right laws to help Nigeria. We bring to light all the illegalities perpetrated by this government and ensure that Nigerians benefit from our efforts.”
On party matters, Hon. Agbedi congratulated Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun, who emerged as the new national president of the PDP after serving as an interim national president for several years.
According to him:
“The PDP, being a party that meets its constitution, rules and conventions, has once again demonstrated its commitment to due process. Yesterday, Umar Ambassador Iliya Damagun, former ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was duly elected and ordered to lead the party until the convention in November, after a new executive will be a jury in December in December.
We are proud of the peaceful realization of the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on Monday, the demonstrated unit and the overwhelming support of the Forum of Governors, the former ministers, the presidents of the State Party, the National Labor Committee, the Board of Trustees and other bodies of the party. This shows that the PDP is still the only party in which Nigerians can trust. “
Excmo Agbedi also asked the APC administration led by Tinubu to respect the judicial sentence on the local government elections in the state of Osun.
“We ask the Federal Government to respect the valid judicial judgments that affirm the validity of the Osun Local Government elections. OSUN State, led by a PDP governor who is delivering dividends of democracy, should not have their funds from the retained local government.
It is surprising that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who once faced a similar situation, now maintains the rescue of Osun’s local government funds. This is antidemocratic. As legislators, we insist that the right thing be done: I must follow the process, judicial trials must be obeyed and the people of the state of Osun must enjoy the benefits of properly elected local governments.
We urge Mr. President to stop the continuous illegality of taking advantage of OSUN’s local government and immediately release them to the validly chosen administrations. ”
Caucus also expressed concerns about the worsening of insecurity throughout the country.
“We call on the Nigerians and the government in power to guarantee security throughout the country, from IMO to Katsina, Plateau, Benue, Zamfara and Borno. Mass murders are occurring throughout the country. A government that cannot protect its people is not suitable for continuing in office.”
Legislators accused the Government led by APC of the failed Nigerians, emphasizing that after more than 10 years in power, difficulties and insecurity they have only worsened.
Excmo Agbedi added:
“Beyond the murders, Nigerians are supporting unbearable difficulties daily. People commit suicide because the government has neglected them. Nigerians now know that the PDP is the only part capable of relieving relief.
Imagine a situation in which Nigerians are killed and Mr. President is abroad in Brazil and other countries. We remember that when the Chibok incident occurred, President Goodluck Jonathan immediately interrupted his trip and returned home to show solidarity and take over. Today, more than 10,000 people have been killed in just two years. It is amazing. “
