Cyril Obarakpo, a resident of Oria-Abraka in Delta State, made local history by marrying two women in a unique wedding ceremony over the weekend.
A video of the event showed Mr. Obarakpo kissing both brides passionately as friends and family cheered along.
In the pre-wedding photoshoot, Mr. Obarakpo and his wives wore matching Manchester United jerseys and jeans.
The unconventional ceremony has surprised many Nigerians and is reminiscent of similar events in the past.
This is not the first time such a wedding has taken place in Nigeria. Tersugh Aondona, also known as Aterry-Baba, made headlines in January for marrying three wives—Blessing, Nancy, and Sulumshima—in a single ceremony in Benue State.

The Delta State region has seen similar unique weddings before. In 2017, Emamuzo from Isoko South married two brides, Janet and Osioni, causing a stir online with their wedding banner going viral.
