The Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) seems to remain restless even when it advances with the preparations for its elective national convention on November 15.
The internal crisis of the PDP seemed to have been reincited after the national president, Ambassador Umar Ladagum, and the national secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, did not agree with the conduct of the congresses in three states: the states of RÃo Crross, Kebbi and Plateau.
State congresses had originally been resolved to be held on Saturday, September 27.
However, 48 hours before the start of the congresses, the National Labor Committee (NWC) led by Ladyum wrote the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing the postponement of the exercises, due to what he said they were “unforeseen circumstances.”

Part of the Lamagum letter to INEC said: “The National Work Committee of our great party postpone state congresses in Cross River, Plateau and Kebbi. A new date will be communicated to the commission.”
But, in a movement that indicates a disagreement within the NWC, Senator Anyanwu wrote a counter letter to INEC, advising the electoral referee to ignore the postponement directed by the national president.
Anyanwu had explained in his letter that all the arrangements for the congresses were made and they would proceed as planned.
“This is to confirm to the commission that Congress will have as originally scheduled and has not been postponed.
“The previous letter signed by the national president must be ignored,” he wrote in his counter letter sent to INEC on September 26.
According to the Secretary, the INEC should not act on any letter not signed jointly by him and Lamagum.
The source said the development scenario is a mixture of the fingers of the political forces that fight to control the soul of the PDP.
Earlier on Thursday, the National Secretary of Advertising of the Party, the Honorable Debologunagba, had also transmitted the decision of the NWC to postpone the congresses, especially those of the states of Plateau and Cross River, to new dates, said that it would be announced in due time.
“The NWC urges all leaders, critical stakeholders, PDP members, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the media, security agencies and the general public to observe the postponement and be guided accordingly,” he had declared that Orology had declared.
The findings on Saturday night indicated that the Electoral Committee of the PDP established to carry out the Cross River Congress held the year on Saturday.
The panel, which was chaired by the honorable Jones Chukwudi Onyereri, ignored the NWC directive to carry out the elections.
