Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, warned President Bola Tinubu who could be forced to return to Lagos after just a period in office.
Dalung, a head of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed his confidence that the opposition coalition can defeat Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
According to Dalung, the failure of the ruling Congress of all progressives (APC) and the Democratic Party of opposition peoples (PDP) to meet the expectations of Nigerians has opened the door to new political forces such as ADC.
“Tinubu can conclude that he should be preparing to return to Lagos before May 29, 2027,” Dalung said.
He said that Nigerians are tired of worsening economic difficulties, insecurity and poor governance, adding that this will lead to a demand for a new political leadership.
“The ADC is not just another minor opposition party. We are building a movement that will even surprise the most doubtful Nigerians,” he said.

Dalung dismissed the previous description of President Tinubu of the ADC as a camp for internal displaced politicians, saying that the party is quickly emerging as one of the strongest platforms before the general elections of 2027.
Although he did not reveal specific strategies, the former minister explained that the ADC is in conversations with interested parties throughout the country and will present credible candidates who can challenge the current system.
