The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, has described as worrying the spate of proliferation of firearms and cult attacks in the state.

Adegboye, responding on Tuesday to a question on the incessant cult attacks in Benin, assured that the police will discover the perpetrators of the act.

“We are equally concerned about the proliferation of firearms in this state.

“However, I can assure you that wherever they are, either they have them at home or they hide them anywhere, we will get them out. They will face the full wrath of the law.

“The issue of cultism is also worrying. The Nigerian Police authorities, the Inspector General of Police and his management team are equally concerned. The citizens of this civilized state are equally concerned.

“Godwin Obaseki has given us a kind of blanket endorsement that whoever it is, no matter where he belongs, he must be arrested and we must follow the processes of the law,” he said.

Adegboye assured the people of the state that Edo would soon become a no-go zone for cultists.

However, he appealed to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards against any social vice that may affect the peace of the State.
