A great battle for the soul of the southwest is emerging as former presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, through the solidarity movement of Dr. Gbenga Hashim (GHSM), the weekend launched an impulse against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidency.
Group leaders held a great meeting at Osoagbo, Osun State Capital.
The leaders of the 31 areas of the local government, as well as the executives of the party, the community voices and the young people declared that the era of the domain of all the progressives of Congress (APC) was coming to an end, stating that the person to lead the rescue of the nation is Gbenga Hashim.
Represented by his chief of cabinet, Mr. Kamaldeen Adebayo, at the meeting, Hashim said: “This ruthless government has bled enough.
GHSM National Coordinator, Abdulrazaq Hamzat, spoke on the same line that compared Hashim with a Moses for the difficult times of Nigeria.
“The Nigerians have been pushed into the wall. Hunger has become a national policy, insecurity a daily horror and hopelessness a state religion.
“But Gbenga Hashim is ready to lead the crusade of this desert. It is free of corruption, full of ideas, tested in the best global and bold enough practices to crush the capture of the APC state,” said Hamzat.
For its part, the Southwest Coordinator, Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, blamed the Federal Administration directly.
“This administration has not fulfilled. It has reduced governance to the service of some privileged interests, while people are stirred in poverty. From Osun, this movement will spread as a forest fire throughout the southwest. People are hungry for integrity, principle and vision, and Gbenga Hashim is the answer,” said Olaniyi.
The GHSM, already winning traction in Lagos, Oyo, Ekiti and Ondo, welcomed the PDP decision to open its 2027 presidential ticket, insisting that Hashim now has a direct path to Aso Rock by the grace of God.
The state coordinator of Osun, the Honorable Tajudeen Hassan, urged the Ward coordinators and the local government to start running.
“Take the gospel of Gbenga Hashim to every street, every home, every corner of Osun. No one must be left behind. This is the movement of the people, and 2027 is our appointment with destiny.”
According to some observers, if the impulse is maintained, the southwest, for a long time the strength of APC, could become the epicenter of the fall of the APC.
With the overwhelming homes of inflation, the increase in unemployment and the spread of insecurity, the launch of OSun already looks like the first revolt organized against Tinubu’s control in the region.
One of the speakers in the event captured the feeling more appropriately: “The fall of the federal administration begins in the southwest. Osun has shot the first shot, and nothing can stop the storm that is coming.”
