The Canadian unemployment rate fell slightly 6.9 percent in June due to strong work profits in wholesale, retail, manufacturing and medical care sectors, according to the new data published by Statistics Canada.
In the Canadian unemployment rate, the National Statistics Agency reported Friday that the economy added 83,100 jobs in June, marking the first increase in net employment since January.
However, he pointed out that much of the growth came from part -time.
Leading the labor increase was the wholesale and retail commercial sector, which created 34,000 new positions. The medical care and social assistance sector continued with 17,000 jobs, while manufacturing also contributed to the positive trend.
This unexpected impulse in employment occurs despite the recent signs of a broader economic slowdown, offering mixed signals before a crucial decision of the interest rate of the Canada Bank scheduled for July 30.
Meanwhile, in a movement that could affect commercial relations, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced a new 35 percent rate on Canadian goods, which will enter into force on August 1, one of the most pronounced rates this week in US commercial partners.
