A cleric, the prophet Adegboyega Oologbonyo, has urgently sought the intervention of the Governor of the State of Ekiti, Abiodun Oyebanji, with respect to the eight-month blackout in the ISE-ORUN and EMURE communities.
He expressed concern that these communities have suffered a prolonged energy shortage, which has significantly affected local companies and led substantial financial losses.
In addition, many families face severe difficulties while struggling to meet basic financial needs due to continuous energy output. Oologbonyo, who works as the Zonal Superintendent of Cac Boanerges, emphasized the urgent need for assistance to solve this problem.
He said: “As someone who has lived and served in these communities for more than 26 years, I testify to the persistent challenges that residents face daily. Throughout these decades, the absence of water in operation transmitted by the tubes has been a constant struggle, since I have not witnessed any that produces water for people.
“Our people are forced to spend time, energy and valuable resources in search of their own water sources, a basic need that should be easily available.
He said that apart from the lack of blackout in the Ekiti community, the state of the state of the roads in Ise-Orun and Emure Ekiti is also deplorable, which he is hindering the economic activity and making daily trips a burden.
He pointed out that most people in ISE-ORUN, EMURE communities are cultivating, adding that providing motorizable roads that connect the farms with cities would greatly contribute to boosting the economy.
“The roads that connect use, and agbed with ise ekiti, as well as Emure Ilé to ọwọ are extremely important for the agricultural economy of the people. “Restoring electricity, providing access to clean water transmitted by pipes, improving our road infrastructure and strengthening safety are not only desires; they are fundamental rights that will significantly raise the lives of our people.
“The government may consider adopting the use of modern technology such as drones and other viable solutions that are being used in the western world to improve government efforts to guarantee the safety of its citizens.
