A former presidential candidate of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), Nana Abdulrahman, described the current crisis that balanced the party as an artificial creation designed by some internal actors with the support of external forces.
Speaking in Kano, Nana said that the ongoing disturbances in the PDP are a ploy deliberate by certain elements to weaken the part and prevent him from recovering his strength.
She argued that, as a loyal PDP member, it is still sure that Nigerians are now more politically aware and can see the PDP as the viable solution to the country's current challenges.
Nana revealed that several influential members of the party have approached her to dispute the position of national president of the PDP, an offer she has accepted. He added that a formal statement of his intention in Abuja would be made after the result of the next meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party.
“The members of the solid PDP party are not happy with what is happening at the party and that is why they consulted me to dispute the presidency of the National Party,” he said.

“As a female applicant and a member of the party that has been at the party for decades, I am sure I can relive the party in its old glory,” he added, emphasizing that the internal crisis is being fed by a handful of individuals.
Nana also declared that her priority, if chosen as national president, would be reconciling all the features within the party, which identified as the root of internal discord.
He also requested the elimination of the interim national president of the party, Umar Damagum, and the Minister of the Territory of the Federal Capital, Nyesom Wike, saying that both figures are in the center of the current division in the party.
Nana promised that if he was given the mandate, he would become the first national president of the PDP and reposition the party in six months.
