Richard Dauda, ​​interim executive secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), said the project was among the seven approved memoranda presented by the FCDA for consideration.
He explained that the project implies the update of the obsolete lamhers on the Nnamdi Azikiwe highway, a 10 kilometers of 10 lanes from Maitama to Gudu.
“If you spend there at night, you will realize that most of the parts of the road are in the dark. Because the street lamps have been there for almost 15 years.
“The project was completed between 2005 and 2006, and the lights have become obsolete and no longer bright enough to lighten the way,” he said.
He said the update was necessary after the availability of new technologies in street lighting.
He added that a hybrid lighting system of the street would be deployed to cheer up the road and make it safer and engine to be the night.
