The National Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed as reports of the false media of a validated list of presidents of the State Party for the ADC throughout the country published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Giving a clarification in a press release over the weekend, Mallam Balaji Abdullahi, secretary of national advertising of the party, said INEC has not presented or confirmed such a complete list by INEC.

Using the Nigerians to ignore the list, the APC pointed out that the process of constituting and ratifying state leadership within any political party is directly within the constitutional prerogative of the party.

“This report is a false news, obviously designed by people who have shown a relentless determination of sowing confusion within our party and deceiving the public. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), according to our knowledge and verification, has not issued said confirmation, neither officially nor officially.

In this sense, it is clear that the process of constituting and ratifying state leadership within any political party is directly within the constitutional prerogative of the party. INEC only recognizes what the part presents through the appropriate channels after due process. As of today, INEC has not presented or confirmed such a complete list.

“Therefore, we urge our members and interested parties to remain quiet, vigilant and guided by the official communication of the national leadership of ADC. Remember that the force of any political movement not only in its numbers, but in its discipline, structure and fidelity to internal democracy. The ADC remains committed to these values.

“The public is advised to ignore the false list in circulation. As always, any authentic update with respect to the structure of the party will communicate through our verified channels.”
