Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court, sitting in Ibadan, has again adjourned the hearing of Motion for Notice in a case filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi against the PDP, its Acting National Chairman and others until Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Justice Akintola had last week ruled on the ex parte motion ordering the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to proceed with its scheduled National Convention while adjourning the hearing on the Notification Motion until Monday, November 10, 2025.
However, the presiding judge, after listening to the lawyers of both parties this Monday, urged them to file all the procedures for the effective start of the case.
Therefore, he adjourned the case to Wednesday to bring all pending applications before the Court.
Nigerian Tribune recalls that the plaintiff/applicant has sought the court’s order restraining the defendants, Acting National President, Umar Iliya Damagum, Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (for himself and the members of the National Convention Organizing Committee) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or their agents truncate or frustrate the holding of the party’s scheduled national convention.
The Court also directed the PDP leaders to strictly adhere to the earlier published guidelines, schedule and schedule of activities for the convention.
In another development, journalists were prohibited from entering the courtroom to cover the proceedings.
Security agencies were strategically located at the entrance to the Court to prevent journalists from entering.
