Africa is scheduled for another unforgettable celebration of music, culture and creativity, since President Bola Tinubu has officially supported the 2025 edition of All Africa Music Awards (Africa), which will take place in Lagos from November 25 to 30.

The president's support occurred in response to a letter from the African Union Commission (AUC) requesting Nigeria's collaboration for the next edition of the prestigious awards program.

To monitor the president's assent, the Federal Government has immediately turned to action through the Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economics, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs by establishing an Inter Ministerial Organizing Committee (LOC) to work with the official host city, Lagos, the African Union and the African International Committee to plan and deliver a historical event under the subject “Africa. Africa “. Africa”.

Speaking during the inauguration of the LOC of the Federal Government in its conference room in Abuja on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economics, Barrímorr Hannatu Musa Musawa, said that the ministry is completely ready to work hand in hand with the government of the state of Lagos and the International Committee of Africa to organize what it described as the best Africa so far.

According to the minister, Africa aligns perfectly with the vision of President Tinubu to take advantage of the creative industry as a key driver of economic growth, national development and social reengineering.

“This is more than a prize show.

“It is an important platform to create jobs, promote tourism, celebrate African talents and tell our positive stories authentically through music to the world. We are excited to work with the state government of Lagos, the Africa team and the African Union to offer a world -class event,” Musawa said.

In addition, speaking at the event, Mrs. Ugochi Akudo-Nwosu, director of entertainment and creative economy in the Ministry, transmitted the official message of the approval of President Tinubu and praised her support for the industry.

The Loc of the Federal Government recently opened for Afrima 2025 includes representatives of key federal ministries such as Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economics; National Information and Orientation; Foreign Affairs; Inside; Youth; Education; and aviation, among others.

The main government agencies are also represented, including the Nigeria Cinema Corporation, the National Board of Film and Video Centers, and the National Council of Arts and Culture. The delegates of the International African Committee and the African Union are also on board.

Africa's president and executive producer, Mike Dada, expressed a deep appreciation to the federal government for his rapid response and full support.

“We thank President Tinubu for his rapid and visionary approval and support of Afrima 2025,” said Dada. “This is not just an approval of events. It is a strong statement that the Nigerian government values culture and creative industry (CCI) and its power to promote unity and prosperity in Africa.”

He also thanked the Government of the State of Lagos for accepting to be the official host city and for its valuable association, as well as its deliberate investment in the creative industry.

“Nigeria has always been a creative and cultural power,” said Dada. “With this support, we are sure that Afro's this year will be an unforgettable celebration of African talent and creativity so that everyone sees it. The awards returned to Nigeria after a successful event held in the city of Dakar, Senegal, organized by President Macky Sall, and the 2025 edition is scheduled to be held from November 25 to 30 in Lagos.
