President Bola Tinubu will declare on Monday a high -level legislative dialogue on the National Security architecture of Nigeria.
The dialogue, with the theme “Peace and Security of Nigeria: Constitutional imperatives”, is organized by the Special Committee of the Constitution review, chaired by the Hon. Benjamin Kalu, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Advisor (Onsa).
To the event, scheduled to celebrate at the National Counter -river Center, the National Security Advisor Office, it will attend senior security officials, including the National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Staff of Defense, General Christopher Musa; Police General Inspector, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun; General Director, Department of State Services, Oluwatatosin Ajayi; and General Director, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.
Other attendees include senior officials of the security agencies of Nigeria, legal and policy experts, civil society organizations and community leaders, particularly of the border regions.
According to the president of the Committee of Media and Public Affairs of the House of Representatives, the representative Akin Rotimi, the initiative is part of the strategic efforts of the tenth House of Representatives to reform Nigeria's Security and Surveillance framework through constitutional amendments.

Rotimi revealed that interested parties are expected to deliberate on critical legislative proposals, including a bill that seeks to establish the State Police and review the framework that the police govern in Nigeria.
The dialogue will also feature messages of goodwill from the speaker of the house, Rt. Excmo Abbas Tajudeen, and an opening speech by President Tinubu. In line with the subject, Tinubu will declare the legislative dialogue open as part of the broader commitment of its administration with the reform of the security sector.
“This event comes at a decisive moment,” Rotimi said. “As Nigeria faces internal and cross -border threats, it is crucial to achieve constitutional clarity over police powers, coordination between agencies and national security supervision.”
The expected results of the dialogue include:
Comprehensive recommendations on security -related invoices, a roadmap for collaboration between agencies, a greater public understanding of legislative security and strategic measures to strengthen border security and regional stability.
The organizers expressed optimism that dialogue, which Tinubu is ready to declare openIt will mark a turning point in Nigeria's security approach, producing sustainable legislative results that protect lives and properties throughout the country.
