Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of the state of Katsina has said that the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in London, will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in his hometown of Daura.
The governor announced this while he headed to journalists at the International Airport Umaru Musa Yaradua in Katsina on Monday morning.
“The burial arrangement for our father who died yesterday in London: we have made consultations with the family and the people around him in London.
“We have concluded that the body will arrive in Katsina at noon and the burial will take place in Daura at 2 pm,” said Radda Governor.
He expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased president in the name of the people and the government of the state of Katsina, describing Buhari as a father figure whose legacy of integrity and service will continue to be unique.
Security has been reinforced in Daura and its surroundings in preparation for the funeral, and the dignitaries throughout the country are expected to attend the final rites.
