The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Sunday that his only difference with the conservative activist Charlie Kirk was about how to treat political opponents.

In a commemorative service in honor of Kirk, Trump praised him as a man of noble purpose, but admitted that he could not share Kirk’s approach to wish the best for rivals.

The president argued that, unlike Kirk, he houses depth for the disgust for his opponents and does not want it to be good for them.

“At that private moment on his day of death, we find everything we need to know about who Charlie Kirk really was,” Trump said.

“I didn’t hate his opponents. I wanted the best for them. That’s where I did not agree with Charlie. I hate my opponent, and I don’t want the best for them. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Erica. But now Erica can speak, me and the whole group, and maybe they can convince me that it is not correct. But I can’t bear my opponent.”

Trump also claimed that Kirk’s murder at Utah Valley University on September 10 was politically motivated, insisting that the attack attacked conservatives as a whole.

“The weapon pointed to him, but the bullet was directed to all of us. Charlie was killed to express the ideas that practically all in this area and most of the other places throughout our country believed deeply,” he said.
