President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, told the story of how he met with President Donald Trump of the United States, at the White House.
Speaking in Abuja at the Ministerial Performance Review Retreat in the first year of his second term, Buhari said he is the only African among the least developed countries that the US president invited to the White House.
He said he was asked to explain why he is killing Christians in Nigeria.
“I think I was the only African among the least developed countries that the president of the United States invited and when he was in his office, just me and himself, only God is a witness, he looked me in the face and said, ‘Why what are you killing Christians? ‘
“I was wondering if it was you, I was wondering how you would react. I hope what I felt inside did not betray me to him. So, I got it.
“The problem between ranchers and farmers stagnant, I know who is older than me, not to mention him, because I think I am a couple of years older than him, was happening. And there was climate change and population growth.
“I tried to explain to him that it has nothing to do with ethnicity or religion. It is a cultural thing that the respective leaderships failed the nation ”.
