Why I will not join APC even though the presidency convinced me – Senator Natasha – Tribune Online

Must Read

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has said she will not defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite what she described as repeated efforts by people linked to the Presidency to persuade her to join the ruling party.

Natasha, who appeared on Mic On Podcast on Saturday, insisted she stands firm in her political beliefs and will not give in to pressure or incentives.

“APC is not an option for me. I don’t have to follow the bandwagon. I don’t have to succumb to any threats or flattery. People from the Presidency have approached me to join APC,” he said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that her political decisions are guided by principles rather than expediency, adding that pressure from powerful interests will not influence her decisions.

According to her, maintaining independence and integrity in politics is more important than aligning with the ruling party for personal or political benefits.

The senator’s comments come amid growing speculation about possible defections by opposition lawmakers as political realignments ahead of future elections continue to gain momentum.
