Ajoke Taiwo, the first wife of the late veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has spoken on her marriage and revealed why she stopped acting after getting married.

Ajoke, who spoke after the death of the veteran actor in a viral video, said she was already an actress before Ogogo joined her acting group.

According to her, the late actor later asked her to quit acting after they got married and focus on raising their children.

Speaking about Ogogo, Ajoke described him as a loving and caring husband, saying his death had left a big void in his life.

“My husband was a good person, a loving husband. He loved me very much. After him, there is God. His death is a great loss for me.”

“This is a wound that can never heal,” he said.

Recalling how she started her acting career and eventually left the profession, Ajoke said she started acting before Ogogo joined her group.

“We used to perform together. I actually started before him, before he joined our group,” she said.

She added that her career took a different direction after marrying the actor.

“However, when we got married, he asked me to stop acting and focus on raising the children,” Ajoke added.

After leaving the film industry, Ajoke dedicated himself to hairdressing, a profession he has continued to pursue.

Ogogo, who died after battling cancer, was buried according to Islamic rites in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State.
