The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Zamfara State, has spoken to the workers and people in the state. They reminded everyone to follow the rules for elections in the state.
The party said that the rules also give the election commission the power to make sure the elections are fair.
In a message from the party, they explained: “Following the election rules, anyone who wants to run in the upcoming elections needs to quit their job by 12 pm today.”
“This is important to make sure the elections are honest and clear, and to keep the name of our party good. We ask everyone from all political groups who want to take part to get ready. We promise to help them in their efforts,” they added.
On the other hand, the head of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission, ZSIEC, promised that no political group will be treated unfairly in the state.
He urged all political groups in the state to participate actively in the local government elections to support democracy.
