• Caution of pilgrims against extreme heat
A few days before the beginning of this year, the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have warned the pilgrims to strictly adhere to security guidelines, particularly on Arafat's day, on Thursday, June 5.
This is that this year's Arafat sermon will be delivered from the Namira Mosque in the Arafat enclosure translates into 34 languages, including three Nigerian languages of Yoruba, Hausa and Fulfude.
The Saudi newspaper, Saudi Gazette, reported on Sunday that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had intensified preparations to guarantee the comfort and safety of pilgrims during this year's Hajj, urging strict compliance with heat -related safety guidelines on Arafat's day.
The Ministry, the newspaper reported, advised the pilgrims to remain inside their stores in Arafat between 10 am and 4 pm and avoid going to Mount Arafat, also known as Jabal Al-Rahma (Monte de la Misericordia), in order to prevent heat-related complications.
“In the light of the expected extreme temperatures in the sacred sites, the Ministry advised the pilgrims to remain inside their designated tents from 10 am to 4 pm on the day of Arafat and avoid venturing to Jabal Al-Rahma or Masjid Namira during these hours to avoid heat-related diseases.
Students who strictly adhere to official movement schedules approved by the relevant authorities are strictly reminded, ”Saudi Gazette cited the ministry.
The temperature is expected to increase as high as between 47 and 50 degrees Celsius in the coming days in Makkah and the Masha'ir (Sacred Muna, Arafat and Muzdalifah), exposing the residents and pilgrims to the high extreme climate.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (Nahcon) had issued a health notice last week to Nigerian pilgrims to take precautionary measures against the current high temperature.
The commission urged the Nigerian contingent to stay fresh, drink enough water and restrict their movements, among others.
According to the notice:
“Given the warm and sunny conditions, it is advisable to take precautions to stay fresh and hydrated by drinking water/liquids, restrict the movement and consider using items such as hand fans, cooling towels, wide -wing solar hats, high SPF sunscreen.”
Meanwhile, this year's Hajj Khutbah (sermon), which will be broadcast live throughout the world, will result in 34 different languages, including three Nigerian languages of Yoruba, Hausa and Fulani.
According to the Saudi Gazette, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Great Mosque and the Prophet Mosque had completed the preparations for the Arafat sermon translation project.
He added that: “The project aims to transmit the message of tolerance of Islam to a global audience in its native languages, promoting better communication between Muslims and non -Muslims.”
