2027: Edo will give 2.5 million votes, Okpebholo assures Tinubu

The Governor of the State of Edo, on Monday, Okpebholo, has pledged to deliver 2.5 million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, describing it as a sample of gratitude for what he called the advances of love and development of the president in the state.

Speaking in the City of Okaijesan in Irrua, the area of ​​the local government of ESAN Central, the governor said that the gesture would reflect the appreciation of the people by the dividends of democracy under the current administration.

Okpebholo made the comment while welcoming a group of deserters of the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) in the Congress of all progressives (APC), declaring that the party remained an open and inclusive platform committed to the progress of Edo.

“I want to congratulate the members of the PDP who have made the decision to join our great party, the APC,” he said.

“This dropout is a testimony of the fact that the PDP has lost relevance in Central ESAN, my own constituency. Today marks the political end of the PDP in this local government.

“Your decision to align with our party is a clear support of our leadership and leadership.

“In 2027, we will reward the love of President Tinubu by Edo with 2.5 million votes. People have spoken through their actions. Edo is APC, and APC is the vehicle of our development under the renewed agenda of hope.

“I will not fail you. I will continue working diligently to make sure that I enjoy a sustained development under my watch.”

Among the deserters were prominent political figures, including former president of Edo State APC, Anselm Ojazua, members of the EDO State Assembly, former presidents of the local government, councilors and former leaders of the PDP.
