The presidential candidate of the Labor Party (LP) in the general elections of 2023, Peter Obi, has declared his willingness to challenge in the 2027 surveys, ensuring the Nigerians who will bring stability to Nigeria in two years if he is elected president.
Speaking on Sunday night during a space session X (previously Twitter) with its supporters, OBI said: “I will bring stability to Nigeria in two years in office. Nigeria leaders should sit in Nigeria and fix Nigeria.”
The former Governor of the State of Anambra also reformulated his belief in the principle of rotation of power, pointing out: “I believe in the rotation of the government between the north and the south. I implemented it in Anambra as governor.”
When addressing the situation within the Labor Party, OBI said the efforts are ongoing for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize the leadership of the party led by Nenadi Usman in line with a ruling of the Supreme Court.

On the possibility of a coalition before the 2027 elections, he clarified that any alliance must be oriented to rescue the nation. “If the coalition is not about stopping the murders in Benue, Zamfara, how to relive our economy, how to make our industries productive, how to put food at the tables of the Nigerians … Tell me. Nigeria is currently at war. We need to do something about it,” he said.
In response to the questions about their preparation for the next elections, OBI said: “We will do things differently in 2027. We will follow a non -violent approach and we will insist that the right thing will be done before the announcement of results in Abuja. Our votes in 2027 will count, and we will ensure that they count.”
He described his main priorities during the first 100 days in office: “Three things to continue in the first 100 days … prioritize over the security, education and eradication of poverty; reduce costs and reject corruption. My family will not be involved in corruption. The funds are channeled in key critical sectors.”
OBI also emphasized the need for effective integrity and leadership. “To bring the order of governance, I will prioritize security, education and get people out of poverty. Do this is to reduce the cost of governance and fight against corruption from day one.”
He regretted the current state of leadership in Nigeria and said: “Imagine in this country, people are dying in Benue, Borno, [and other parts of the country]And our leaders are commissioning bus and vacation stops. “
When commenting on the recent foreign trip of President Bola Tinubu, Obi commented: “In two years, Tinubu has not spent a night in any state in Nigeria, apart from Lagos, but it will spend 8 nights in Santa LucÃa, a smaller place that Ajegunle.
“Santa LucÃa is the size of the tenth largest city in Nigeria, Ilorin. President Tinubu has never slept one night in any state of Nigeria out of lakes since the assumption of office in 2023. Pbat to stay in Santa Lucia for 10 days.”
OBI also emphasized his commitment to bring Stability to Nigeria in two years and strengthen democratic institutions and party policy. “My presidency will ensure that there is a strong opposition in the party policy. There will be no dropout of elected officials to other parties when it is in charge.”
Reflecting on his leadership style, he said: “My past speaks to me out loud. Wherever there was a problem in the state of Anambra, I was physically there. Anyone who wants to serve should be ready to even put his life in the line of the life of the Nigerians.”
He concluded with a reminder of Nigeria's position on the world stage: “No one abroad takes you seriously if you don't have a stable government.”
