A crowd of angry people cut off the finger and nails of a wheelbarrow pusher named Abubakar Yusuf. This happened because a woman wrongly said he stole her four hundred thousand naira, ₦400,000.
The event took place in Sapele, Delta State on Thursday, as reported by the DAILY POST.
The crowd hit Abubakar until he fainted. They even threw fuel on him to burn him. But then, a relative of the woman admitted that she was the one who took and hid the money.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has not replied to a message sent to him to confirm this story.
At the same time, a Rights Activist named Israel Joe, asked the Delta State Police Command to help Abubakar get justice.
He said the woman must be arrested for lying, accusing an innocent person, and almost causing his death.
