A young man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a generator in the welfare area of Makurdi, state of Benue.
The incident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
The residents of the area reported that the theft of generators have become increasingly frequent, often go unnoticed until the power is cut unexpectedly.
In many cases, the locals initially assumed that their generators had simply run out of fuel, only to discover later that they had been stolen.
“One more thief was caught this morning in well -being rooms, Makurdi, to steal a generator,” said a resident. “Fortunately, the group of vigilantes intervened. It will face serious consequences, but unlike others before him, he will obtain an adequate trial instead of the jungle justice.”
The suspect is expected to be delivered to the relevant authorities for greater investigation and prosecution.
