The chief magistrate of Babajide Ilo, sentenced on Tuesday to the controversial singer Haber Habeb Olalomi Okikiola, popularly known as a laptop, and sentenced him to three months in prison.
Tribune Online recalls that the singer was prosecuted before the Magistrates Court in IFO in April 2023 for a charge of three positions that borders the assault and theft of musical instruments, as indicated in the Charges sheet No. MIF/192c/2023.
Subsequently, the singer received a bond in the sum of N300,000, with two guarantees of his immediate family.
It was reported that he appeared before the court last Thursday and was then referred to not appearing in previous hearings despite multiple postponements.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Olumide Awoleke, had previously informed to the court that the defendant, Haeb Okikiola, committed the crime on November 18, 2022 at approximately 11:00 hrs in Okeosa, Ilogbo, within the IFO master district.
The load sheet says:
“That you, Badmus haeb okikiola, also known as portable, and others now in general, on November 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., in Okeosa, Ilogbo, within the IFO Master District, they conspired among themselves to commit a criminal law, Wit: Agges.
“That you, Haeb Okikiola Olalomi, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned district, illegally assaultsu Oscimosu Emmanuel Oluwafemi (man) when he defeated him throughout his body, committing a contrary and punishable offense under section 351 of the Criminal Code of the State of Ogun de Nigeria.
“That you, Badmus Haeb Okikiola, also known as laptop, on several occasions in 2022, in Okeosa, Ilogbono, within the IFO magisterial district, he stole some musical teams, including a study monitor of Yamaha H55, a full -study interface monitor and a complete connection cable and an AKG P420 capacitor, including a Yamaha Contrary to the sections of the study interface 2 and 384 punishable under section 390 of the laws of the Criminal Code of the State of Ogun, Nigeria, 2006. ”
In his opinion, the chief magistrate, Ilo, ruled that the singer was guilty of counts 1 and 2.
He sentenced the defendant to a month in prison with the option of a fine of N10,000 for the position of 5 months and two months with the option of a fine of N20,000 for Count 2.
