The state government of Oyo has appointed Otun Olubadan from Ibadan Land, Oba Rashidi Laraja as president of the 2025 World Festival.
The Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun revealed this during a courtesy visit to him at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.
Olatunbosun said that the purpose of the visit was to intimidate him from the Ministry's plans to seek his consent to preside over this year's festival and at the same time request his real blessings.
He said that the Egungun World Festival remains a significant cultural show that attracts participants and visitors around the world.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to promote cultural values, unity and tourism through events such as the Egungun Festival, and expects a successful and impressive celebration.
The commissioner on behalf of the Ministry expressed a deep appreciation for his warm reception and his willingness to play a key role in the cultural event, which celebrates the rich inheritance and the traditions of the Yoruba people.
Responding, his real majesty, Oba rashidi Amaja gently accepted the invitation of the Ministry to serve as president and real father of the time in the great celebration.
