The troops of Division 3 of the Army and the Safe Haven Operation of Operation Nigeria have arrested two famous gunmen, Yahaya Adamu and Saeedu Haruna, during a recent operation in the area of ​​the local government of Barkin Ladi of the State of Plateau.
The suspects were arrested between May 10 and 11, 2025, during a mission driven by intelligence that led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a magazine and an ITEL phone.
The spokesman for Operation Safe Haven, Samson Zhakom, said in a statement on Sunday that the operation was based on the processable intelligence that links the suspects and its union with multiple criminal acts in Plateau and the neighboring state of Kaduna.
The affected areas include Gashish and Kurra Falls in Plateau, as well as Gwantu and Fadan Karshe in the local government of Sanga de Kaduna.
According to Zhakom, Adamu was first arrested on May 10 in Barakin Gangare, Barkin Ladi, after which the troops continued to arrest Haruna and recover the firearm.
Both suspects are in custody and it is said that they cooperate with ongoing investigations as security agents intensify efforts to detain other group members.
The Army praised the public for their support and urged citizens to continue providing credible intelligence to help dismantle criminal networks and guarantee the safety of lives and property in the region.
