The Congress Osun State Chapter of all progressives (APC) told Governor Adelake that there is no vacancy for him in the party, amid speculation about his possible dropout.
The former president of the Osun State Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, made the statement after Adeke, his brother Dr. Deji Adelev and nephew David Adelev visited President Bola Tinubu.
“APC will not allow Adeke to join the national ruling party because his ticket is not on sale. In fact, as of today, we do not see Adelev as a member or part of APC as part,” said Owoeye.
He added that the APC in Osun is the party to win and implied that the mandate of the Adelev PDP is finishing.
However, Adeleke spokesman, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, dismissed the rumors of the governor's dropout to APC, stating that Adeke remains a member and leader of the Democratic Party (PDP) of the people in the state of Osun.
Rasheed described the visit to President Tinubu as a routine courtesy visit, warning against reading intentions.
“This clarification was made by the spokesman of the state governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, who criticized the media speculation about the impending dropout of the governor for the congress of all the progressive (APC).”
“The media speculation about probable or imminent dropout is false news. Governor Adeke remains a member and leader of the PDP in the state of Osun.
“The visit of the Adelev dynasty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a routine courtesy visit. Any reading of the dropout agenda on the visit is mere false news,” said the statement.
He stressed that the governor is still a member of good faith and leader of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun.
