The Northern Elderly Forum (NEF) has expressed its outrage at the brutal murder of more than 20 Nigerian soldiers in a terrorist ambush near Bangi, in the area of ​​the local government of Mariga of the state of Niger. He said: “More than 20 uniformed defenders of our nation were killed as animals by a band of well -armed terrorists who launched a daring coordinated ambush that completely overwhelmed the military base. This is not just an attack; it is a declaration of war against the Nigerian state, and the State is losing.

“If the federal government continues to delay, diverting or minimizing this crisis, the Nigerian people will have no choice but to believe, whether correctly or incorrectly, that this inaction is intentional or, worse, accomplice.
The forum demanded the immediate statement of an emergency state on security throughout northern Nigeria, emphasizing that this should be followed by decisive military and intelligence operations.
“The blood of the north of the Nigerians is not cheap. Our soldiers are not a cannon fodder. Our citizens will not continue to die in silence as long as a complacent government observes from a distance.
“The NEF warns in the clearest possible terms that federal inaction will continue will cause open resistance. The patience of our people has exhausted. The legitimacy of any government that cannot or does not protect its citizens has gone. Enough is enough. We will not be silent. The north will not kneel before terror,” he added.
