Veteran actor YEMI SOLADE has publicly offered an apology to fellow actor and filmmaker Afeez Owo Abiodun during an altercation of decades of age on a set of films.
Speaking during a recent interview at 'Behind The Fame African A-List', Solade reported how he slapped Afeez while filming in a city on the outskirts of Ibadan more than 20 years ago.
According to him, the incident occurred after filming and the city experienced a blackout. Solade, frustrated by the situation, said Afeez, who served as a production manager seemed derogatory of his complaints, which led him to react violently.
“Let me apologize with Afeez Abiodun. I slapped him once. He was the production manager of a film that I cannot remember the year.
“We finished filming in a city outside Ibadan, and everywhere I was in a blackout. As the production manager, he was the one who reported, and when he did not take me seriously, that slap simply came from nowhere in the dark.
The Nollywood star expressed a deep regret for the incident, recognizing that her response was incorrect and very late for a direct apology.
“It has been a long time, like 20 years. I have spoken bitterly to some people before, but let me continue with Sorry. Mabinu Simi,” he added.
Solade also reflected his temperament, admitting that he does not tolerate the insults easily, which he described as a personal weakness that may have contributed to his reaction at that time.
