The resignation of the former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has ignited the mass dropout of the Government Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, the All Progressive Congress (APC), as well as other political parties in Adamawa.
The prominent members of APC and PDP who have already abandoned their parties for the new coalition party, Africa Congress of Democracy (ADC) include the candidate of governor of APC in the general elections of 2023, Senator Abbo, former youth coordinator for Tinubu in 2023 in Adamawa, and some interested parties in the 21 areas of the local government in the state.

Atiku Abubakar announced his resignation as a member of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), citing irreconcilable differences with the current direction of the party.

He recognized the support and opportunities provided by the PDP throughout his political career and extended the best wishes for the party and his leadership.
