The agents of the Territory of the Federal Capital, FCT Police Command, attached to the headquarters of the Durumi division, have arrested a Philip Jallo, a man from Durumi 2, Abuja.
The arrest followed a heartbreaking tragedy that occurred on July 16, 2025, at approximately 9:00 pm, where a 3 -year -old boy fell and drowned in a discovered septic tank (soaking) with the parts in a residential complex.
The soaking distance was supposedly exposed by the negligent suspect despite the repeated appeals of the neighbors around him to cover it.
A statement by Josephine Adeh, a FCT police spokesman, said preliminary investigation revealed that the discovered soaking had long represented residents in the area.
According to the reports, he said that several warnings and supplications were made by neighbors concerned to the suspect, but he gave a deaf and did not take necessary measures.
The innocent child, according to the police, was playing inside the complex when he slipped tragically and fell into the discovered soaking.
Unfortunately, the victim was declared dead in the hospital after being rescued from the tank.
“While the suspect is currently in custody, the police commissioner, FCT, expressed a deep sadness for the unfortunate incident and pity the disconsolate family.
“Also urges residents to take environmental security seriously, while parents and tutors must also be attentive and ensure that their rooms are properly monitored at all times to avoid such loss of unnecessary lives,” the statement added.
