The Kaduna State Police command arrested three of its staff for allegedly killing a 20 -year -old bus director during a routine search in the Igabi local government area.
The fountains told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on Sunday night after a call from the anguish of the Barau Dikko teaching hospital was received.
According to the sources, a Dayyabu from Abdulrashid de Maje Village, Maraman Jos, had rushed the hospital on a white J5 bus (LSD 190 Year registration number) with a passenger who suffered a gunshot wound in the chest.
The victim, later identified as Nasir Abdulhakim, was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the bus was marked by officers of the Police Division of the city of Millennium throughout Kujama Road, but the driver allegedly tried to evade the arrest, which led to a persecution. In the process, one of the officers shot the vehicle, hitting the driver in the chest.
The remains of the deceased have been released to the family for burial according to Islamic rites, following the family’s request that an autopsy is not performed.
Police authorities confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
