The Finsegbunwa family chief, the ruling house of Ijebulend, Otunba Abdulateef Owoyemi, has declared that the money bags would not have any opportunity to compromise the selection of the new Awujale de Ijebuland.

He said: “Until now, eight possible candidates for Awujale’s throne have approached us with money, but we have rejected it. The nursing home told them that we don’t want any of that.
“Everything that matters to us is a process of transparent selection and just in which only the best of our ruling house are presented to the creators of kings for the selection as the next Awujale.”
The former president of the Nigerian Public Accountants Institute explained that the late Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, transmitted a warning note that the selection of his successor must be transparent and that he should not be dictated by people with deep pockets.
