This information was revealed by the body of Osun Amotekun, Isaac Omoyele, in a statement obtained by Daily Post on Sunday in Osoagbo.

Omoyele said: “Around 1759, our men tracked the suspect to their meeting point. His gang tried to resist the arrest, but were dominated through strategic lures.

“According to the reports, the fierce expand of shooting lasted several hours, since the agents closed the suspects. One of AWE’s nearby associates was also arrested during the operation.”

Omoyele confirmed that the arrest was the result of coordinated intelligence and the persistent monitoring of security agents.

“This operation took several hours and threw significant dividends. The main suspect and one of its cohorts is now in custody.

“During the operation, Amotekun agents recovered a number of hard drugs and their variety of charms of suspects. The articles are now evidenced as part of the ongoing investigations.

“The recovered exhibitions will help investigators unravel the total extension of the criminal activities of the suspects,” said the body commander.

There are continuous efforts to stop other gang members who managed to escape during the shooting. Omoyele assured the public that security agents are actively following the suspects fleeing.

“The agents are on the path of those who escaped and we are determined to take each of them to justice,” said Omoyele.

The body of Osun Amotekun emphasized his commitment to address violent crime in the state.
