Exports dominated commercial performance, representing 59.81 percent of total trade with a value of N22.75 billion. This represents a jump of 28.43 percent year -on -year and 10.45 percent trimester against the quarter.

Crude oil exports remained the pillar, contributing to N11.97 billion or 52.6 percent of total exports. Non -raw oil exports were valued at N10.78 billion, representing 47.4 percent of exports, of which non -oil products represented N3.05 billion, or 13.4 percent.

On the import side, Nigeria registered N15.29 billion in the second quarter of 2025, which represents 40.19 percent of total trade. This reflected an increase of 9.43 percent compared to N13.97 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2024, but a marginal decrease of 0.9 percent of N15.43 billion in Q1 2025.

In general, Nigeria registered a positive trade balance of N7.46 billion in the period under review, an improvement of 44.31 percent of the surplus recorded in the first quarter of the year.
