The authorities of the University of Babcock, Ilisan-Remo, the state of Ogun, have discredited the claim of an online platform that one of the candidates currently looking for the office of the president/vice chancellor of the institution resisted an alleged allegation leveled by him in the past.
The University also denied having informed that its outgoing president/vice chancellor, Professor Tayo Adelala, wanted to manipulate the process of appointing his successor to favor a particular candidate.
He declared that, apart from the fact that the entire report was a falsehood, the alleged defense group, called “the apostles of the seventh day Adventist Devocacy Group” “or its so -called coordinator, an Elder Samson phaasi, accredited by the online platform to be the source of history completely unknown not only for the university community, but also for the Adventist church of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day of the day
In a statement made available on Monday by the Director of Public Affairs and Marketing of the University of Babcock, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, the University declared that Professor Afolarin Ojende Ojewole, who the report accused of sexual infidelity was until his university license in 2018, the pastor of the university/vice president of spiritual life and that he had never been involved, accused, rejected or sanctioned by the Pastor of the University of the Pastor/Vyed of the University by the vice president of ViceCinter another offense for the university.
“Then, the accusation against him, the Church, the authority of the University, as well as the outgoing vice chancellor in the report is a product of the reckless imagination and a deliberate attempt of some irresponsible people of selfish service to calm the character of the university, the church and the aforementioned personalities,” reads the statement.
The University explained that Professor College Ojewole, whom the newspaper accused of sexual infidelity, the university advised him to resign and that made him cover up his absence permission according to the university’s policy.
According to the University, his absence permit was for the family reason that has to do with the support of the appropriate parents for their children who decided to relocate back to the United States in the hope of returning with his wife, after a while, to the university to continue their services.
The University asked the online platform if it is logical and sensible that Professor Ojewole would have returned again to look for the position of Vice Chancellor at the same university where he was accused of inappropriate and advised sexual behavior to resign and did so to cover up.
“That is why for us the newspaper has a mischievous interest: undermine the integrity of our university, sow seeds of discord among the members of the university community and other interested parties, and also to issue sprays on the outgoing VC and the people who buy their successor.
The University pointed out that the appointment of a new president/Vice Chancellor of the University since it was inaugurated as a private university in 1999 has not been political or subject to lobbying, since it is not an election.
The appointment process, he said, is rather a sacred and spiritual exercise based on merit, excellence, consideration of prayer, adherence to church policies and the laws of the nation as candidates are strictly evaluated in the merit by the University Council of the University, is dirty with that responsibility.
The University warned that the newspaper and the people who “orchestrated” the report to withdraw from destructive practice as such would not do well, but that they put them in trouble, threatening to institute a legal action against the newspaper.
It reaffirms all interested parties (students, staff, alumni, parents and the general public) that the continuous process of appointing the next vice -rector is still transparent, fair, fair and guided only by merit and service.
“The legacy of the moral integrity of the University of Babcock, the spiritual depth and academic excellence will never be undermined, since the university remains committed to its mission of building service leaders for Nigeria and global markets in general,” he concluded.
