The presidency, through the special advisor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on policy communication, Daniel Bwala, has said that Seyi Tinubu is qualified to run for any political position in the country, including the governorate of the state of Lagos.
Bwala announced this in an interview in Podcast Clarity Zone published on YouTube on Wednesday.
He dismissed the statements that Seyi’s political participation is only linked to his father’s position, saying that the president’s son has built his own image among young people.
“If Seyi Tinubu’s father is the president, what prevents him from running for the governor of the state of Lagos? Seyi Tinubu can even challenge his father in the next elections,” Bwala said.
He said that Seyi has maintained friendships over the years and has supported young people to access opportunities in government through the lines of the party.
“At one point, it was even criticized by the people that brought the government, which were mostly obvious. That tells you that it has no prejudices,” Bwala explained.
Bwala added that his own criticisms of the administration of Tinubu did not affect his relationship with Seyi, saying that the young Tinubu can separate the policy from personal ties.

He also noted that Seyi has not been related to common scandals with children from previous Nigerian leaders.
“He will never see him attacking people on social networks, although his father is one of the most vilified in recent memory. He has built relationships even with critics of this government,” Bwala said.
Bwala urged the Nigerians to evaluate Seyi based on direct meetings instead of assumptions.
“Until you experience someone, do not have an opinion of them. Too many people inherit other people’s problems without any personal encounter,” he added.
