The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has declared that the creation of a Palestinian State would endanger the survival of Israel, committing to oppose such efforts in the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations (UNGA).
According to AFP, while talking with his cabinet on Sunday, Netanyahu said: “We will also have to fight, both in the UN and in all other sands, against the false propaganda addressed to us and against the calls to a Palestinian state, which would endanger our existence and serve as an absurd reward for terrorism.”
He added that “the international community will listen to us on this matter in the next few days.”
This occurs when more Western nations prepare to recognize a Palestinian state.

Israel has strongly condemned such recognitions. Netanyahu said previously that “reward terror” after the attack of October 7, 2023 of Hamas against Israel.
The United States has supported Israel’s position, with President Donald Trump, speaking in London during a state visit with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, stating that he opposed recognition.
Currently, around three quarters of the 193 UN Member States recognize a Palestinian State, which was granted the status of non -member observer in 2012.
