The Kano State Police Command has recovered Tramadol and Ecomabalin’s tablets worth N82.7 million in Rimin Auzinawa rooms by Kano Metropolis.
The police commissioner in the state, Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, revealed this while informing journalists in Kano on Monday.
He said: “Without a doubt, with a massive reduction of crimes, the command has made significant progress in a month, including the arrest of suspects for several criminal crimes and the recovery of dangerous weapons and large amounts of illicit drugs.
“In particular, we recently recovered the Troats of Tramadol and Ecomabalin worth N82,725,000.00 in Rimin Auzinawa Quarters, Kano, which will be delivered to the NDLEA for greater investigation and prosecution,” Bakori said.
He also announced that the command had arrested 105 suspects in 30 main cases, which include armed hand robbery, illicit drug treatment, theft of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and thugs.
The exhibitions recovered from the suspects, he said, included firearms, motor vehicles, motorcycles, other dangerous weapons, illicit drugs and stolen properties.
He said that the command had complied, in accordance with the directives of the Police Inspector General, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, in the adoption of proactive prevention strategies of community -centered crimes before the quarter and trimester holiday of the year, intensified its strategic initiatives, particularly through operation Kukan Kura.
This operation, said the commissioner, had been fundamental to stop all forms of criminal activities and promote a safer environment for state residents.
“The Kukan Kura operation addresses all forms of crimes and criminalities in the state of Kano, with the active participation of the public members.
“This operation has produced notable results in the interruption of criminal networks and the prevention of possible threats.
“By committing to the community, taking advantage of the intelligence and the use of technology, the command has been able to stay ahead of the criminal elements and respond effectively to emerging security challenges,” he added.
