Coordinator of the Oshiri Development Center in the area of the Local Government of Onicha of the State of Ebonyi, Hon. Aguu Odefa, asked the Police Commissioner in the State about what he described as a violent attempt of his life for alleged cultists.
In a petition dated September 29, 2025, and signed by his lawyer, Barrimer his Unaunu, Odefa alleged that on Saturday, September 27 at 10 pm, a group of armed men launched a deadly attack against him in Panna Hotels, the area of the state of Oshiri.
According to the request, the alleged suspects (names of the names) are released.
The coordinator claimed that the assailants tried to kidnap and force him to one of the motorcycles with which they came.
The petition also claimed that when Odefa resisted, the assailants inflicted multiple machetes and ax short of him before he managed to escape.
It was said that he had suffered serious injuries and is currently hospitalized.
Barrimer Ununu also declared that the attackers destroyed the official Odefa vehicle, which is valued at N70 million, during the incident.
“The suspects threatened to kill and kidnap our client on the date of the incident.
“Our client, who escaped by little with his life, is still in the hospital receiving treatment,” said the request in part.
The legal team urged the police command to approve the arrest and prosecution of suspects for alleged conspiracy, attempted kidnapping and murder, armed handft, cultism and malicious damage to the property of the government.
At the time of presenting this report, the police authorities had not yet issued an official response to the petition.
