The senator who represents Edo North in the Nigerian Senate, Adams Oshiomhole, warned former President Goodluck Jonathan against practicing calls to dispute the presidential elections of 2027 against President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking in the Sunday policy of Cannels Television, Oshiomhole said that Jonathan had no possibility against the ruler Congress of all progressives (APC) if he decided to re -enter the race.
According to him, such movement would not only be useless but also harmful to Jonathan’s legacy.
“We will defeat it flatly if it comes out because now, the South-South is no longer PDP, so where will it start?”
The former Governor of the State of Edo said that only those who do not want Jonathan to encourage him to dispute, insisting that any attempt to return to power could undermine the goodwill that the former president enjoys at home and abroad.

“How can Jonathan be a threat? We will defeat it before, when PDP was really PDP. If a man had a PDP at his best, in his heyday, and he was defeated, I think only his enemy will push him to go to the elections,” he said.
Oshiomhole urged Jonathan to preserve his image as a respected statesman, noting that his influence has continued to grow since he left office in 2015.
“If I could advise you, I will say, sir, keep this status. You ruled for eight years; you don’t have to govern for nine years,” added Oshiomhole. “He has managed to demonstrate that by power, it can be relevant and be at peace.”
He also praised Jonathan’s decision to admit the defeat in the 2015 presidential elections, describing it as an act that raised its global reputation.
