According to the reports, three people have been killed and several houses razed in a community shock in Taraku, area of the local government of Gwer East of the state of Benue.
The sources said the incident occurred at the beginning of Monday after the death of a 41 -year -old Jacob Kwaghgba, a member of the Civil Protection Guard of the State of Benue.
Kwaghgba, who allegedly went to consult Taraku, was attacked and stabbed by some locals.
According to the source, he was urgently taken to the Teaching Hospital of the State University of Benue, Makurdi, but then died while receiving treatment.
His death caused an attack of retaliation of his relatives, which led to the murder of an 80 -year -old woman, Luna Aeer, who was burned at home, and a Fidelis Aondohemba, 25, who was shot dead.
Three houses and a rice mill also caught fire during the attack.
The troops of the Nigerian army, the Police and the Civil Protection Guard of the State of Benue, have reached the area to restore the order.
According to the sources, normality has been restored since then, while the efforts are ongoing to detain the perpetrators of violence.
