The Kano State High Court, sitting on Miller Road, presided over by Justice Musa Dahiru, has remanded a man over allegations that he killed his wife after she refused to prepare kuli-kuli (peanut cake) for him.
The accused, Idris Kurma, was prosecuted for manslaughter, contrary to article 221 of the Penal Code, according to the prosecutor, lawyer Lamido Abba Soron Dinki.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
Lawyer Lamido asked the court to grant the prosecution time to call their witnesses, while Lawyer Ibrahim Adakawa also asked to be provided with full information about the case.
Judge Dahiru granted both requests and adjourned the case until December 12, 2025.
Idris Kurma, who resides in Goda, Shanono Local Government Area of ​​Kano State, reportedly strangled his wife, Aisha Idris, after she refused his request to prepare kuli-kuli, resulting in his death.
