Nigerian singer Sola Allyson says she has never found joy in marriage, revealing that although she is still married, she and her husband now live in separate houses.
She added that despite common assumptions, she is not a gospel artiste.
Speaking on the Oyinmomo podcast, Allyson said marriage has been difficult for her, adding that she has never enjoyed the kind of happiness that many people describe.
“I must confess that I am married, but my husband and I decided to live separately, he in his house and I in mine,” she said.

“Marriage has been very challenging. I hear people talk about the joy in marriage, but I have never experienced it.”
Allyson explained that despite their efforts, the marriage “has not been successful.”
She also clarified that she is not a gospel musician, noting that people often assume she is because of the style of her music.
“I’m not a gospel singer. My name is Sola Allyson,” she said. “Jesus doesn’t need promotion, that’s why I don’t have to say his name in every song.”
