Officers of the CP-SAT Special Assignment Team on Friday arrested Isiakpere, a 67-year-old suspected armed robber, in Abraka community, Ethiope East Local Government Area of ​​Delta State.
The suspect is currently in police custody, Newslodge reports. Two pump guns and 39 live cartridges were recovered from the suspect.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a statement sent to Newslodge correspondent in Warri.
According to the statement: “In a continued effort to curb cult-related activities and the proliferation of illicit firearms within Delta State, CP-SAT operatives, led by ASP Julius Robinson, successfully executed an intelligence-led operation in Abraka on December 6, 2025, at around 7:30 am.
“Based on credible intelligence, officers carried out a coordinated search at No. 2, Umeghe Community, Abraka, at the residence of Isiakpere Friday, a 67-year-old male. The operation resulted in the recovery of two pump guns and 39 live cartridges.
“He has been detained while investigators expand investigations to determine possible links to cult groups, weapons suppliers and other criminal networks operating in the region.”
